Everything about this apartment made you feel like you were on holiday and at home at the same time! Everything was clean, all facilities were available there and the bedrooms are massive and the best part of it all is the stunning view down to the spyglass inn and seeing that beautiful stretch of seafront every day. So close to the town too everything was just so easy to get to from this apartment. Loved every minute of my stay there.

Ventnor is, of course, rather hilly so walking can be difficult for those with mobility issues. The weather is generally good and the place has its own warm, sunny microclimate in which exotic plants thrive. Bus links to other parts of the island are good and travel is cheap: currently £2 per bus ride. You need two buses to get to lots of places eg Cowes (the no 3 and then the no 1), as buses go into Newport. There are great places to eat which suit a range of tastes. The Smoking Lobster on The Esplanade is excellent, and the Drunken Lobster (diametrically opposite the Boots Ventnor bus stop for the no 3 to Newport) is lively and a favourite.

Lovely town on a steep hillside, with a sandy beach at the bottom. Really lovely food at the pub The Spyglass.
Botanical Gardens are wonderful, cliff walk lovely in both directions, and a great walk up on to the downs from where you can see the whole Island. Did everything on foot and by bus.

Attractive landscaping.
Ventnor has some very steep areas but negotiable with time.
Taxi services practically non-existent - suggest pre book as far as possible before arrival.

Really loved the town, wasn't too big.
Really loved the town, wasn't too big. Had shops to cater for all you would need. Very clean. Every where we went the people always welcoming and so friendly.
Lots of great walks on your doorstep whether it is along the coast or across the downs. Or there is a great bus service that can take you to the popular attractions.
Eating out there were all manner of food you could enjoy. Also at all price levels to suit your budget. Have to say our absolute favourite place to eat based on price and quality was The Bistro.
Has extremely steep hills to get down to the esplanade so would require you to drive if you had any mobility issues.
Would highly recommend.

Ventnor has lots to recommend it when taken individually - a variety of bars, cafes restaurants and pubs, a couple of mini supermarkets, a lot of quirky independent shops and antique shops, car parking, kids play areas, beach and some walkable attractions. The difficulty is the roads linking the downs, town and beach and all very steep, narrow and winding which made us think twice about getting the car out sometimes.
Absolutely beautifully decorated Victorian apartment, a 2 minute walk to the grocery store, selection of great restaurants, several pubs and the high street with eclectic, antique stores. Just at the top of the hill from the beach, great way to burn off that big pub lunch. Ventnor is very quiet and quaint, compared to the more common tourist towns of Sandown, Shanklin, Cowes and Newport. A great way to relax and reflect with some quiet time.
Fantastic accommodation in good location. Super comfy beds, fully equipped kitchen (with sharp knives!), very clean throughout with lovely decor and thoughtful touches. We all had great fun playing the IoW Monopoly game! Great base to explore the island and within easy walking distance of Ventnor beach (if you don’t mind hills).
Everything about this hotel was great. The rooms were comfortable, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the food was superb. There was also an excellent range of options for breakfast. The hotel was a short walk away from the centre of Ventnor and the sea front. The ambience was old-fashioned luxury without being stuffy.
The location was superb being right on the seafront and with a comfortable sun soaked deck area. The lovely little beach cafe, The Seapot, was only a short walk away, and Ventnor esplnanade was also in walking distance. The accomodation and facilities were comfortable and Haylie the manager was friendly and helpful.
Superb location 60 seconds from the beach and esplanade. One parking space, which is a bonus in Ventnor. All facilities up to standard. Tea, coffee, salt, pepper, sugar. Cling film (a little). Plenty of crockery etc Although there was accommodation above and below, this did not cause any issues.
Beach Clean practical and very pretty in a unique retro style. Annette was very kind and helpful. Lots of games and books. Lots of light. Good shower neat kitchen well equipped. Very central with Ventnor beach 2 minutes walk. Cafes shops all around.
Our room was very spacious, clean and comfortable as was our ensuite. The hosts were welcoming and friendly. The location was perfect for our pet dog Flora with Ventnor Park next door which also provided access to a cliff walk into town.
Beautiful old house and furnishings, a few minutes walk from coastal path. Very comfortable stay. Cosy log burning stoves in communal areas. Spectacular garden.
Welcoming host.
Well located within 20/30 mins walk from Ventnor.
A gem on the Isle Of Wight. Very friendly team, great location for the 'bottom' of the island, first class restaurant (make sure you're there Friday - steak night is terrific). Lovely garden too.
The property is in a great location for access into Ventnor, Richard was a superb host and couldn’t do enough for you full of useful information, great breakfast and lovely room
